The national minimum wage has increase from 1st October 2015 – Have you made the changes?

National Minimum Wage
The new rates effective from 1.10.2015 are as follows:-

– £6.70 an hour for workers aged 21 and over
– £5.30 an hour for workers aged 18 to 20
– £3.87 an hour for workers aged 16 to 17

Apprentice minimum wage will increase from £2.73 to £3.30 per hour

The apprentice rate will apply to:

  • apprentices under 19
  • apprentices aged 19 and over, but in the first year of their apprenticeship

Any apprentices who do not fit into the above category will qualify for the national minimum wage dependant on their age.
